AIR TRAVEL TO COLOGNE

Cologne / Bonn Airport is the international airport of Co-

logne. The airport is centrally located in the Cologne/Bonn

region approximately 15 km southeast of Cologne city cen-

tre. It is also possible to travel by train from the region's

other major airports Düsseldorf Airport in 37 min and the

Rhein-Main Airport in Frankfurt in 48 min to Cologne.

JOURNEY TO COLOGNE BY ROAD

Ten highways lead into Cologne's beltway, consisting of

A1, A3, A4, A57, A59, A555, and A559, which brings you

directly to Congress-Centrum Ost Koelnmesse without

junctions or traffic lights. Simply follow the green signs

marked “Koelnmesse”.

Most of Cologne's metropolitan area is a low emission

zone, into which only vehicles sporting one of the stick-

ers for emission group 4 (green sticker) are allowed to

enter. Congress-Centrum Ost Koelnmesse is accessi-

ble without the afore mentioned stickers. You will find

Parking Information

Congress-Centrum Ost Koelnmesse offers about 14,500

parking spaces, which cost about EUR 6,00 per entry.

TRAVEL TO COLOGNE BY TRAIN

Cologne is one of Europe's most important railway junc-

tions. It can be reached from all major cities in Germany

and other European metropolis. International high-speed

trains connect Cologne's main train station, Köln-Deutz

station and Cologne Bonn Airport station with Düsseldorf,

Frankfurt, London, Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels. The

Köln Messe/Deutz station is located directly next to Con-

gress-Centrum Ost Koelnmesse. The Cologne Convention

Bureau and Deutsche Bahn offer special event rates for

the XXXI International Congress of the IAP and the 28

th

HOW TO GET FROM THE CITY CENTRE

TO THE CONVENTION CENTRE

Cologne's public transport system (KVB – Kölner Verkehrs-

betriebe) is part of the network Verkehrsverbund Rhein-

Sieg (VRS) offering a unified ticket system for Cologne

and the surrounding region. The extended VRS network

consists of busses, trams, S-Bahn (commuter trains), un-

derground trains, and regional trains.

Due to its location in the centre of Cologne, Congress-

Centrum Ost Koelnmesse can be quickly reached by public

transport. The underground lines 1 and 9 (station Köln-

Deutz), S-Bahn lines S6, S11, S12, S13 (station Köln-Deutz)

and tram lines 3 and 4 (station Koelnmesse) connect the

city centre and surrounding region with Congress-Cen-

trum Ost Koelnmesse.
