General Information

Liability

CPO HANSER SERVICE is liable in keeping with diligence

required of a prudent businessman, according to the laws

of the Federal Republic of Germany. Regardless of course

in law the liability of CPO HANSER SERVICE shall be limited

to damages which are caused with aforethought or by gross

negligence. However, this shall not affect the liability of the

Congress organizer and of the persons or organizations

responsible for providing means of transport or other ser-

vices. The participants take part in all excursions at their

own risk. Verbal agreement can only be considered as bin-

ding when confirmed by CPO HANSER SERVICE in writing.

Place of performance, venue of jurisdiction

Vancouver/Canada shall be the exclusive place of perfor-

mance and Hamburg/Germany venue of jurisdiction for

all parties. The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany

shall apply.

Force majeure

For reasons beyond its control (such as war, strikes, lock-

outs, riots or any such civil disturbances, any acts of God,

including but not limited to earthquakes, floods, droughts

and typhoons and any other cause of circumstance of

whatsoever nature beyond control) that have an impact

on the arrangements, timetables or planning of the 6th

World Congress on ADHD and its corresponding activities

in Vancouver. The congress has the right to immediately

alter or cancel the activities or events or any of the arran-

gements, timetables, plans or other items relating directly

or indirectly thereto. No party involved shall be entitled

to any compensation for damages that result from such

alteration or cancellation.

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

Starting in March 2016, visa-exempt foreign nationals who

fly to Canada will need an Electronic Travel Authorization

(eTA). Exceptions include U.S. citizens and travellers with a

How to get from the airport to the Vancouver

Convention Centre:

Vancouver International airport is located approximately

20 minutes / 12 km from downtown Vancouver and served

by a wide variety of local, national and international airlines

with direct routes to most major destinations. The airport

is connected by the Canada rapid transit link to Vancouver

city centre and waterfront station. Frequency approx. every

5 – 10 minutes, travel duration 30 minutes.

Licensed taxis are available at the airport. Taxi fare approx.

CAD 35 – 40 per way plus gratuity.

Public transportation

The Vancouver Convention Center is located in the down

area of Vancouver. It can be reached by several public trans-

portation possibilities: TransLink provides city transit for

tourists and residents seven days a week via buses through

its transit system, Skytrain. Major hotels are within walking

distance to the congress venue.

Car park

Parking space is available next to the Vancouver Conven-

tion Centre and participants arriving by car are advised to

use these facilities. Parking fees are not included in the

registration fee.

Taxis

Vancouver taxi cabs are allowed to operate within the

Vancouver area, including Vancouver International Airport.

Taxis can be called, hailed on the street or found at one

of more than 50 official taxi ranks located around the city.

Ferry

Regular ferry services are running from Waterfront station

next to the convention centre to North Vancouver. Fre-

quency approx. every 15 – 30 minutes, travel duration

20 minutes.
