WFSBP 2021 12 General Information HOWTO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE VIENNA CONVENTION CENTRE Vienna International Airport (VIE, Flughafen Wien- Schwechat) is located approximately 40 minutes / 25 km (16 miles) southeast of downtown Vienna and served by a wide variety of local, national und international airlines with direct routes to most major destinations. Vienna city centre can be reached in 16 minutes by the “City Airport Train” (running twice per hour), by metro (S7, twice per hour), train (ÖBB-Railjet) as well as by a variety of shuttle busses. Licensed taxis are available at the airport. The taxi fare is approx. € 35–40 one way. LETTER OF INVITATION The congress office will be pleased to send a formal letter of invitation to any individual requesting one. It is under- stood that such an invitation is intended to help potential delegates to raise funds or to obtain a visa. This does not imply a commitment from the WFSBP to provide any fi- nancial support. Invitation letters can be requested in the online registration process until 30 April 2021. The letters will be sent as email attachment. If an express delivery is required, the delegate shall order a courier at his / her own expense. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION Vienna has a fully integrated public transport network consisting of 5 underground lines, 28 tram routes and more than 100 bus routes. Taking the underground line 1 it only takes seven minutes to reach the Austria Center Vienna starting from Stephansplatz in the heart of the old town. Major hotels are within walking distance to the congress venue. TAXIS The city offers a special shuttle from the airport to any address inVienna for a fixed price of 36,00 EUR. City cabs can be called, hailed on the street or found at one of the official taxi ranks located around the city. AUSTRIA CENTER VIENNA Opened in 1987, the Austrian Center Vienna (ACV) is Austria’s largest conference centre in the international heart of contemporary Vienna: the Donaustadt district. Situated in what is unofficially known as the “UNO-City” building complex, the ACV is one of Europe’s leading conference centres. It is the only conference centre world- wide to be directly connected to a United Nations Head- quarter and it can host up to 21.000 congress participants.
