WFSBP 2019 45 WFSBP Awards The following WFSBP Awards will be delivered and presented during the 14 th World Congress of Biological Psychiatry 2019 in Vancouver. aa WFSBP Lifetime Achievement Award in Biological Psychiatry The WFSBP Lifetime Achievement Award in Biological Psychiatry is intended for senior research scientists (MD, PhD or equivalent) whose lifework has significantly in- fluenced today‘s field of biological psychiatry. This award is open to members and non-members of the WFSBP. It consists of a monetary award of EUR 1,000. aa WFSBP Award for Scientific Excellence of the WFSBP Host The WFSBP Award for Scientific Excellence of the WFSBP Host is dedicated to an outstanding researcher in the field of biological psychiatry originating from the host country of the World Congress of Biological Psychiatry. This award consists of a monetary award of EUR 1,000. aa WFSBP Research Prize The WFSBP Research Prize is intended for WFSBP members (MD, PhD or equivalent) whose current sci- entific work has had an important impact in the field of clinical and/or basic research in the area of biological psychiatry. This prize consists of a monetary award of EUR 1,000. aa WFSBP Award for Excellence in Education The WFSBP Award for Excellence in Education is to ac- knowledge outstanding and innovative education in bi- ological psychiatry including the implementation of new interactive media. The WFSBP Education prize is open to all WFSBP members who have improved edu- cation in all fields of psychiatry. This award consists of a monetary award of EUR 1,000. aa WFSBP Young Investigator Awards for the five best posters (under 40-year-old) An application for the Young Investigator Award is not necessary. All posters will be evaluated at the congress. The awards will go to those presentations that not only provide evidence of innovative research, but which are also well presented. Please note that presenting authors must register and attend the meeting to be eligible for any of these awards. aa WFSBP Young Investigator Awards WFSBP is offering Awards to young investigators to at- tend the WFSBP biennial congress and the special edu- cational sessions. The Award includes a travel grant of EUR 400 (approximately USD 450, as of October 2018) plus a free registration to the WFSBP Congress in Van- couver, Canada. Payments will be made in Euro after the congress. Psychiatrists or basic researchers under the age of 40 are eligible to apply. The selection is competitive. The application should in- clude the following: 1. A letter from the candidate applying for the Award with a summary of career goals and interest in bio- logical psychiatry 2. A letter from a mentor or the president of the national WFSBP affiliate Society outlining the candidate’s achievements and how the award will support the candidate’s career in biological psychiatry 3. A CurriculumVitae Priority will be given to candidates: a) with demonstrated interest in biological psychiatry b) with history of interest in research and some track record of publications c) that have submitted an abstract for a poster or an oral presentation d) from developing countries The Awardees are expected to attend all three WFSBP educational sessions.
