ECP 2018 Preliminary Programme

11 ECP 2018 · Bilbao Further Sessions e ONE-DAY COMPUTATIONAL PATHOLOGY SYMPOSIUM (CP) The One-Day Computational Pathology Symposium had its inaugural meeting at the European Congress of Pa- thology 2016 in Cologne, Germany. This year, the third edition will take place on 9 September 2018, during the 30 th European Congress of Pathology in Bilbao, Spain. The symposium aims to be a forum for discussion and ex- change of knowledge in the area of computational pathol- ogy. It brings together key speakers from both academia and industry to facilitate such interaction in the broadest possible manner. Topics of interest (non-inclusive) are algorithm development and validation, regulatory and us- ability issues, and clinical value. Embedding of this sym- posium in the European Congress of Pathology is consid- ered a great asset, as the congress is attended by a broad range of pathologists. Further information will soon be available online at www.esp-congress.org. e TWO-DAY SYMPOSIUM FOR MOLECULAR BIOLOGISTS (MB) For the fourth time in a row, the ESP is happy to announce that the Two-Day Symposium for Molecular Biologists in Molecular Pathology Diagnostics and Research will broaden the spectrum of the European Congress of Pa- thology. The symposium will take place on Monday, 10 September and Tuesday, 11 September 2018. Our increasing knowledge of the molecular basis of dis- ease opens the doors to new therapy options for cancer patients. The use of molecular data nowadays directly impacts patient treatment. The major goals for scientists working together with pathologists and clinicians in the field are to provide high-quality molecular diagnostics but at the same time to translate basic research discoveries into clinical practice. In this workshop current advances but also challenges and problem-solving approaches in the field of molecular pa- thology will be addressed and discussed. The symposium will focus primarily on the interests of molecular biologists working in pathology molecular diagnostics and research. Topics include: e Biomarkers for Immunotherapy e Liquid Biopsy e Next Generation Sequencing: practice guidelines and technical advances e Bioinformatics: databases and mutation classification e Borders of somatic and germline testing e Novel technological developments Organisers of the Two-Day Symposium for Molecular Biologists: e Winand Dinjens, The Netherlands e Frederick Klauschen, Germany e Marjolijn Ligtenberg, The Netherlands e Cristina Teixido, Spain e Bastian Tops, The Netherlands e Sabine Merkelbach-Bruse, Germany Further information will also be available online at www.esp-congress.org. e REGISTRATION FEES (for ECP delegates the symposia are included in the registration fee) Registration and payment received by 3 July 2018 EUR after 3 July 2018 EUR Computational Pathology Symposium (9 September 2018)  75,00 100,00 Molecular Biologists Symposium (10 / 11 September 2018) 150,00 200,00
