ADHD - An Illustrated historical overview
Virginia Douglas investigated specific disabilities of hyperactive children in 1972, suggesting that a core group of symptoms involving inability to sustain attention and to control impulsivity can account for most of the deficits. Laufer and Denhoff, both working at the Emma Pendleton Bradley Home, described in an article with Gerald Solomons in 1957 the “Hyperkinetic Impulse Disorder”. Article of Neill Hobhouse, 1928.
